Articles of Organization of the Next Generation Group of the Eng Family Benevolent Association of Los Angeles

ARTICLE I

The name of this group shall be: THE NEXT GENERATION GROUP OF THE ENG FAMILY BENEVOLENT ASSOCIATION OF LOS ANGELES. 

ARTICLE II

This group is organized as an associated organization of the ENG FAMILY BENEVOLENT ASSOCIATION OF LOS ANGELES, a nonprofit corporation organized pursuant to the General Nonprofit Corporation Law of the State of California. 

ARTICLE III

The specific purpose of this group is to provide its members the opportunities to cultivate relationships for personal and professional growth that enrich one's commitment to family and the community, and to aid in the preservation of the Chinese/Asian ethnic heritage. 

ARTICLE IV

The authorized number of members of the group, the different classes of membership, if any, the property, voting and other rights and privileges of members, and their liability for dues and assessments and the method of collection thereof, shall be set forth in the bylaws. To the extent that any bylaws of the ENG FAMILY ASSOCIATION OF LOS ANGELES are in conflict with the bylaws of this group, the bylaws of this group shall govern. 

ARTICLE V

No part of the net earnings of the group shall inure to the benefit of any member, trustee, officer of the group, or other private persons, except that the group shall be authorized and empowered to pay reasonable compensation for services rendered and to make payments and distributions in furtherance of its purposes set forth in Article II. 

ARTICLE VI

Upon the dissolution or winding up of the group, its assets remaining after payment, or provision for payment, of all debts and liabilities of this group shall be distributed to the scholarship fund of the ENG FAMILY ASSOCIATION OF LOS ANGELES if then in existence, otherwise to a nonprofit fund, foundation, or corporation which is organized and operated exclusively for charitable, literary, scientific, or educational purposes and which has established exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. 

ARTICLE VII

No substantial part of the activities of this group shall consist of carrying on propaganda, or otherwise attempting to influence legislation, and the group shall not participate or intervene in any political campaign (including the publishing or distribution of statements) on behalf of or in opposition to any candidate for public office.
