(1964-2010)

Message Book

On behalf of David Ng’s family, I wish to thank all who attended David’s services, all who sent flowers and other gifts, and everyone who gave our family such warm emotional support. David took great pride on being an Ng and continuing our father’s legacy in the community. David took even greater pride on being a member of your organization. Please share this message with your members. I hope to attend your organization’s events soon. Thank you once again.

It's time to let you go,
your spirit now is free.
Even though you won't really be gone,
because you'll live inside of me.

So when we have to leave you
at your resting place,
I will always remember
your smiling.

This is hardly a goodbye,
so I won't weep anymore,
because now you're in better place
then you ever were before.

Even though that I will miss you,
and I'll think about you.
You'll always be my brother,
and that's all I have to say.

I met David at the Eng Family [Association]... in 2007. David was always very nice, gentle and generous. I never forgot the NGG Las Vegas trip, because David made the trip interesting. Not only has he treated us the delicious buffet. We were play game and won. I will say this is a best Vegas trip in my life. David always gave me a ride when I feel not comfortable drives long way. When he knows H.K. singer have concert at Vegas from me, he always said bring his Mom, too.

Cynthia Wu

I am shocked and deeply saddened by the news of David's passing. It wasn't that long ago that we were just watching the NBA Finals at the Family Association. David had a heart of gold. He was always very kind and sharing, and a great supporter of the Eng Family Association. I will always remember him for being so giving of his time. It was not beneath him to help set up tables, chairs and tents for Family Association events. He was not afraid to get involved. Whether it be his time, or his knowledge, he was willing to help. I remember he even offered to give pro bono counsel to help those who were taken advantage of. A true hero, indeed. Since we never know when it's our time, I take comfort in the fact knowing that David made a difference in people's lives. He certainly made a difference in my life. I will miss him, and he will not be far from my thoughts.

We have certainly lost a young and vibrant brother and the Eng Family Benevolent Association of Los Angeles has lost a promising future leader. Our condolences to David's family.

David was always very kind, generous and interesting! David treated the whole big group of us (NGGs) to various delicious meals before! Once in Westminster and once in Las Vegas! The buffet David treated us to in Vegas was one of the best meals I ever had in Vegas! David along with Caroline once donated gift cups for an event we had and made the elders at Eng family very happy. David also donated the money he earned from a Majong documentary to NGG, too! I remember some of David's favorite films were... the Young and Dangerous gangster series. David is so interesting! Conversation with David was always great! David, you will be sorely missed and forever remembered!

Jason and I got to know David at NGG meetings and sat with him at the NG Spring Banquet. David struck us as being intelligent, thoughtful, and always contributed great input and suggestions. We will very much feel his absence at our gatherings and wish that we had been given more opportunities to learn more about such a wonderful person with who had so much to contribute. Our deepest condolences to David's family during this difficult time. Keep his big smile and your favorite memories of him alive in your heart.

Janice Chow-Ng

David, I'll never forget the kindness you have always shown to me and my family. We will miss your presence at the gatherings, your support of the family community and especially your friendship. Future Association events will always feel empty because you're not there. There were hopes that one day the stewardship of the Association community would be in your capable hands. You certainly possessed the respect, temperment and pragmaticism for leadership. But now we're all bereft because of this enormous vaccuum left by your passing. Rest in peace.
