This briefing will address the health care needs of Asians and Pacific Islanders and present analysis on how proposed federal health care reform legislation plans to meet those needs. Speakers will include Assemblymember Mike Eng (pictured), Sonal Ambegaokar of the National Immigration Law Center, Yen Ling Shek of UCLA Higher Education and Organizational Change, and Miya Iwataki of the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services. Efforts to reform our health care system must address the needs of our Asian and Pacific Islander communities. Join us to create a better understanding of the health disparities that exist in the community so that the voices of Asians and Pacific Islanders can be elevated in the health care debate.
